Joey Heraldez
Water Treatment System Specialist
A recent chemical engineering graduate, Joey was first introduced to the environmental and water treatment world through a summer internship with ChemTron Inc, a company that uses chemical solutions for water treatment. It was there that he became passionate about the idea of using his chemical engineering knowledge for clean environmental purposes.
Today as a water treatment operating engineer for KES, Joey oversees daily operation and maintenance for the Purple Line extension water treatment plant to ensure compliance with its regulatory permit, as well as optimizing the efficiency of the plant through various process controls and chemical dosing. With only a few months on the job, he has already cleaned over 80 million gallons of groundwater. Joey holds a BS in Chemical and Materials Engineering from California State Polytechnic University of Pomona, is OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certified, and is E.I.T. Certified from the California State Board of Professional Engineers.
